Talking Yes!!!! 1983 300sd

I went and looked at a car this evening... it's a top shape W126... I thought it was a W123... but I got there and saw the 300SD on the back... I'm ALMOST positive that Mom will get it tomorrow... as long as I pass my driving test... If I can pass the test... I'm sure mom will help me get it!! There was absolutely NO rust on it... there were a couple little minor details... it has been mechanic maintained... has around 225k miles on it... the paint has a few spots that aren't the best... But overall... I REALLY LIKE IT!!!!!! I checked all the things that y'all told me to... and they all checked out... the one final point is I have to hear the engine start up cold...

I'm working on it... There is a lot of stuff that is new to me... but I try to be a fast learner.... It'll take me a bit to get used to driving a diesel, much less an automatic... But I'll learn It'll be my first car... the ONE thing that getting it or not hinges on is IF I pass my driving test in the morning... And if I get it... I'll definitely be on here

If you can't pass the test then I guess you don't need a car.
As long as you've studied-up you should do fine.
I hope you've studied-up.........

The ONE problem I'll have with the test is the parallel parking... I still haven't fully figured it out yet... a little more practice before I go in and I should be fine though...

You need to PM sailor15015. He's not around as much, but is a college student living in the OKC area and is very knowledgeable with these cars.

parallel parking is real easy. Put your back tire parallel to the back tire of the car you are next to. Full lock to pull into the spot. When you see the curb disappear in your side mirror turn the wheel to straighten out. this is the easiest way to parallel park and you will get in the tightest of parking easily.

Okay! Thanks for the tip!!!! I'll have to adjust my mirrors then... but I'll write that down and practice a bit in the morning!!!! That sounds a LOT easier than what I was getting from what mom was teaching me... With that tip I should be able to get the car tomorrow!

just adjust them like normal driving and when the curb disappears just straighten the wheel.

The W126 has beefy bumpers...you don't need parallel parking skills
