OM 606 Shut off valve or shut off solenoid?

What I had always called the shut off valve (SOV), the part on the side of the IP with three fuel lines and one elec. connection, must be called something else by Mercedes. I looked up and ordered a SOV and what I got was a bolt about 2.5 inches long with a knurled knob on one end that has an arrow and says STOP. Do I actually need a shut off solenoid? If that is the case does anyone have a part number so I can be sure to get the right part next time? What I don't need is part 601 070 05 046 because that what I have.

Part #11 http://detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=210025&M=606%2E962&GA=722%2E608&CT=M&cat=19T&SID=07&SGR=045&SGN=01

You got a Kill Switch for a 95 with the 606.910 engine. It replaces the bolt holding the main fuel filter down on our engines. I dont think it will clear the hood if it were installed on yours.

How much do "those" cost BTW?

Thanks Terry, that part costs $77 at the discounted price.

This is the description of the part I ordered "Fuel system - Fuel induction - Diesel injection pump - Shut-off solenoid
Shut-off solenoid, e300 1996 - 1999"

Is that not the part I need?

I need the part # for the part I need. Whatever its called.

You want #0000784449 Shut Off Valve per the above diagram. Tell the fool at the parts desk its a turbo W210 not a W124. Your vin always helps too.

You were sold part #23 on the 1st detail. Its a manual kill switch used on the W124 606.910. http://detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=210025&M=606%2E962&GA=722%2E608&CT=M&cat=19T&SID=07&SGR=120&SGN=04

I'll call them tomorrow and hopefully get someone who knows what I'm talking about. I'll post here again after the dust settles...

Well it literally took all day but they have resolved this to my satisfaction. My first call was at 740 this am. I ended my last call from them at 315pm. They weren't argumentative but they did have some trouble determining which part I needed. But they did acknowledge they sent me the wrong part and are paying shipping for the new part and the return of the old. This place is actually a MB dealership in MA. It is: http://www.mercedespartssuperstore.com/ They had the cheapest price on the SOV I could find. If you need one any time soon CALL THEM to order. If you order online you will get the wrong part like I did. Well, my part is on the way and once it gets here I will be a satisfied customer.
