Actually, only $200, my tank was almost full already, and they had a $100 limit * 2 credit cards.. I doubt I'll ever see it that cheap again...

Talk to me. How does a storm effect a shortage the same day it rips thru the gulf..I would think it would take awhile to see price changes and shortages.
I mean were not drilling, refining, delivering and consuming a storage tank at the gas station every day are we?? [/sarcasm]

Yes, close to it.

Oil consumption in barrels per day.

To the ignorant who say: "Drill in the USA to lower our oil prices!"
I say keep prices high and use as much foreign oil as possible. (I'm not joking)

High price is the only thing that will effectively reduce consumption. Look at the chart above, we consume 14.2million barrels of oil PER DAY than the next country on the list and we have 1/4 their population. Cheap fuel = gluttons. Its the main contributor to the SUV/Pickup craze. Being "green" with cheap fuel available only results in hybrid SUV tanks and 10mpg FlexFuel hogs.

Using foreign oil means we are consuming THEIR resources. The USA already sits over 5x the oil that Saudi Arabia has. When they run dry, that means the oil power will shift and we can become the dominant oil supplier in the world.

Filling drums like that is just the thing that causes panic and fake
shortages.
I just filled up yesterday at the same price as last week
$3.99 gal.

If you cross referenced that chart with the population of each country, our consumption would look even more extreme.

I havn't noticed any change, I bought diesel last Friday for $4.33 a gallon, and the Friday before that for $4.36. I did notice regular shot up about a dime.

RUG has been at 3.75 in Ithaca, NY for about a week and a half now. I think for a couple days one of the discount stations in town was down to 3.70. D2 has been in the 4.20's and 4.30's. Don't pay attention to D2 much here because the Benz is tucked away in storage until I get home

I agree with you 100%!

BTW, there are no fuel prices here...they are out, every place I have driven by.
