Talking Major Restoration/Customization of Ol' Turbo

Probably the most pointless DD thread in a while, but I'm proud of my work.

Ol' Turbo got a few gifts for our one year anniversary:

First off, a clip to finally attach the warning triangle I've had for a while.

Then came a new first aid kit box. My old one was missing a lid and the PO decided to glue in mismatched carpet at the bottom of the tray.

The box also serves as a new home for the SL's unused first aid kit.

...and finally...the icing on the cake...straight from the MB classic center.

What a spoiled little brat Ol Turbo is, eh?

Thanks for raining on my parade

I think I'm getting a bit too personal with Ol' Turbo. Is it strange that I slept in her on our 1st anniversary night?

Been there, done that, welcome to the addiction...

By the way I stashed my first aid kit/s safely, while in their place I installed a usable one from Wal Mart. Fits perfectly - and usable too!

You'll soon want rear seat headrests for Ol' Turbo, and to fix the front seat nets, and gray pin switches, and probably extra trunk lights ... like mine

That's not the period correct sticker for your car, but hey, it's better than nothing, right?

BTW- your face looks extremely creepy on the reflection on the windsheild.

Glad you got to spend time and get new toys for your car. My car spent our 4th anniversary (Oct 2nd) in the shop (it's been in two shops since Sept 18th, it should be ready tommorow, technically, later today since it's after midnight) while I went on to San Antonio to be with some of my relatives because my dear uncle died that morning.

Sorry for being a "Debbie Downer", -WOMP WOMP!!!-.

You got your car some nice things for your ownership anniversary that look like they didn't break the bank. Mine had better accept a harmonic balancer as an anniversary gift or else. I know it really wanted Coco mats, but it can't have it both ways.

My battery tested low at tires plus... and Norm has an inferior newer one.

Perhaps I should get one of those pretty white ones?

I'm in the planning stages right now for ridding myself of my mildly pinked out interior.

I would only use an OEM battery. They're construction is better then most of the aftermarket ones. I think VW uses the same supplier (they look the same anyway... same handles, same translucent white plastic, same plastic sticker over the fill plugs) and my TDIs original battery lasted 5 Michigan winters! It could have gone another year easily but I replaced it with an aftermarket... I now wish I had gone OEM. (not to mention that the battery "installer" broke several plastic bits under the hood)

My SDL has an OEM battery, and it adds so much to the show under the hood

Can you get those MB windshield stickers at the dealer?

My 86 sdl has a Bosch Battery that has been in there for the last 10 years. I had to charge it up once last year after my alternator brushes went south. I guess a pretty white MB battery would look better under the hood though.

Believe it or not, my windshield is original and I still have the VPC blue sticker on it from delivery to the port.
Now since I just said that, I expect a big rock to get me the next time on the Interstate!

MB ownership is like a relationship. After going nuts for awhile, you learn to enjoy the old car "patina".
