Thanks for the compliments. It sure is a nice one, though realistically it's not "too nice to drive". I would guess it's probably a $4-5000 car. Like I mentioned it does have some rust starting, though it's really not bad at all, especially compared to how these can get... I was looking through the records, I actually have them all the way back to day-1, and it was originally a southern car, but only for the original owner (looks like she kept it about 6 years). After that it lived in PA, then down to VA, and back to PA. I really should total these records up, it seems that all 3 previous owners were quite compulsive about getting every little thing fixed.

What's the best bet on stopping minor rust at the jack holes? One of my friends that used to have a pair of 280's told me his mechanic suggested packing them wheel bearing grease... I don't know about that one.

But the TD is tempting to keep for sure. I have 2 other cars I need to sell, once those are gone... I think this one will probably end up staying. the 300SD, and 87 Saab 900-T I think I might just ebay in order to free up some space. They are both nice cars too, but I just don't have the space.

Also, odd thing about this 85, there are quite a few different and additional components under the hood Vs my 83. I notice I have a KKK turbo, and some sort of odd boost control / boost bypass valve. Why in the world would have Mercedes changed all this for 1 year? Also interesting to note that the 85 has an ECU for the tach rather than the tach amp.
