Yes, we are still interested. This is how I learn. I wish all would post results after a long trial like you have had. I just replaced my glow plugs and learned on here to ream out injector hole to get out built up carbon. Made a huge difference!

Keep us informed. I am fighting what sounds like the same battle. It ended up being glow plugs and carbon build up. My gp wires at the plugs were getting frayed and were causing some resistance (no heat) also my injectors were toast.

I was right

I can't believe that it was the injectors all along! Ernie's In Truckee CA got it started today.

So that means I did do my electrical testing right and my intuition was correct about the injectors. It probably didn't start because of the cold and a big air pocket in the vormax. I bet if I put boiling water on the case or hot cols underneath I might have been able to get it started, recommended by Ernie. It also means that my plugs work and don't get hot to the touch on the exposed side

I sent him some monark injectors that he replaced the og's with. He said that they all needed to be shimmed. He said that the og's did have some gunk in them but not really conclusive that it was the veggy oil being that I hadn't driven it on straight veggie oil and that they were very old.

Good thing I didn't go with the first shop that said I needed a rebuild.
Its Been over a month. Weird though I don't think I really need a car now that I've worked with out one. No tickets, no gas, no picking up the friends.

Anyone interested in a 80 300td? Unless I fall back in love when I get her back.
