Had 240D.. thinking about 300CD

Hi,

I lost my mint 240D in an accident recently and it's a total loss. I'm thinking about a replacement and the 300CD caught my eye. But I'm not familiar with it so I'm looking for some feedback on it. I liked my 240D manual because it was simple and reliable and I like the design. I like the 300CD for the style so far, is the engine similar to a 300D ? Are there issue about it ?
