Open the door all the way up. Better still, pull it out of the garage, if you are going to let it run.

Would you let your car run OUTSIDE in Chicago all night? I wouldn't - unless I was trying to get rid of it for an insurance payoff. You probably couldn't get in bed and asleep before someone stole it!

Agreed. If it is an attached garage, even putting an exhaust hose out the garage door would be risky. If it vibrated loose and fell off, you might never wake up. HOWEVER, if it is an attached garage, leave the door into the garage from the house open, and maybe even set up a small fan to blow warm air from the house into the garage instead. It will stay plenty warm enough for the car to start.

No I wouldn't leave mine running anywhere. The first place I wouldn't leave it running is in a garage. That's how people end up dead!
