It's not really the expense, it's the crap shoot of re-threading that 8mm allen screw up from the bottom and into the engine mount arms.....

I changed one out yesterday on the passenger side of a '82 300D. It was at least 25mm lower than a new one. The hood was dancing around at idle it was so bad. Not sure how long it had been in place.

I got them from a Worldpac retailer. Same stuff as Fastlane, sadly quite a bit cheaper on most items. [I always check them first] I had other items and it was the other items that were the larger $$$ savings. Only about $3 per W123 engine mount difference so for that little I would have supported Fastlane. The OM606 engine mounts and other items are what were so much cheaper.
I am going to buy OEM rubber W124 floor mats from them though....

Hmmm I see. Is the dealer the only place to not get the worldpac material ? Is the worldpac stuff really that bad ?

I have mounts Engine and Transmission made by EURO.
But, they have not been on even a year yet; so far so good.
The Engine mounts were only part of what it took to reduce that hot idle shaking.
Rebuiling the Injectors took out the largest percentage of shaking. The mounts took out the next biggest bite.
Valve adjustment some more followerd by the Gold Rack Damper Screw.

I did not have as much fun as I thought doing the mounts. Buggered up some threads on one of the arms trying to get the bolt back in due to missalignment. Lucky the threads cleaned up with a tap.
The above meaning I hope not to do it again for way more than 2 years.
