How am I ruining the engine?
I'll be pulling the autolite plug and replacing it with a bosch. I'll also be testing the relay etc. Got directions of diesel giant.

Apparently you did not understand the picture I posted above. These are prechambers, GP's sit in here. When your shiet Autolite shiet's the bed and the tip breaks off all this metal is going to go somewhere. In your piston for a while, then out the valves or around the piston rings once the piston has made the particles small enough. This will ruin atleast one piston and perhaps your turbo as well.

You'd be better off taking them out and putting a plug bolt in.

Yeah I agree. due to circumstances beyond my control I put (3) Autolite GPs in my 300D. One has just crapped out at ~five months old. Of course, it was the hardest one to reach and replace. Advance auto did take the bad one back though, and gave me an other replacement at no charge for the product. It's worth buying the better quality Bosch and saving the headache.

It is foolish to use those in your car. You are gambling with your engines life over $10.

I've never heard anyone have good things to say about autolites i had 3 of the 4 fail within 3 months in my VW. I like beru better than bosch
