Of course, after we've driven a bit....I glance over and ask him if his 300SDL fuel gauge works. It was on E
So, we stopped for fuel on the way to the GTG.
He's been preparing for days/weeks for this GTG, and didn't fill up the tank??? Now that is The Don we all know........

Looks like yall had outstanding turnout with a ridiculous variety of MB's. Very cool. I especially like the CD that was #80. That vin # is an awesome bullet point!

I put 21 gallons in it last week and It was time to fill up. I always do full tank fills. I have yet to explore why the reserve light doesn't work. Took 20.9 gallons to the first click. I did say to daw that I had wished I filled up by my house at $2.06 a gallon instead of the overpriced tourist area $2.20

yeah you like that eh.. Everything fits in the trunk. Plus... don't you worry I'm searching for my Marty McFly stuff

Matt is right, it was a '78 300SD (built 3/78). It was chassis number 112 or something incredibly low like that..

I'm sure we will be seeing him on the forum soon.

OH....btw, I found something in the trunk he didn't even know he had. Wagon owners PERK up. He has a wagon trunk triangle in pristine condition. I'm talking about an 11 out of 10. TheDon even saw it.
What's up guys!! Had a GREAT time meeting all. Thank you Daw_two & Bob(was that right?) for the help with the fuel lines. Was my car really louder than the Dons? (Was it cause the under hood pad was missing?) Great bunch of guys and awesome cars!!! Thank you for including me!

Thanks guys! That mean alot coming from you Benz Gurus! I still got some minor issues with it like most of the group.(work in progress!) Wanted to see a 126 with Euro lights on it. maybe next time.

Do you guys think Euro lightsand wheels(AMG or other) add or subtract from the cars appeal/value? Also living in Florida I have the urge to black the windows out too! I like it cool inside.

I <3 my tint

if the next person doesn't like it.... oh well, I'll take an hour and remove of it.

as for new wheels... if I do change, I keep the origionals (other than my bundt/hubbie swap for my 240D) which i regret. I want my hubcaps back.

Euro headlamps on a 126 always look good, IMO. Time-period correct AMGs are a plus too. If you're worried about value, you can always swap it back when/if you plan to sell it. Tinting the windows will help lessen the fading and UV damage to the interior too. Love the color though! Like my coupe's...

Thanks guys! If I do swap the wheels I'd prob take the old ones and recondition them like new and keep in the attic. I got nice 2nd hand Euro lights in the box but have not installed them. was hoping to see one at the GTG. I had Euro's on my 190 and loved them! Yes, window tint is coming!! Too d@m hot without it!

I got a couple shots of the GTG. if the parking lot wasn't being over taken by soccer moms in Kia's who thought we were driving Volvo's I'm sure we could have gotten a nice group pic.

photobucket is taking forever!

maybe its just the internet in Tampa International. idk!
18 pictures shouldn't take 18 hours. lol

LOL Matt, I couldnt believe when she said that either, boy was I a dick to her (but I think it went over her head). But then again I have gotten many times (today for instance) "Nice BMW" while driving my Benz...

People.

Next time me and TheDon will have to find a spot secluded from non MB owners.

Any suggestions anyone? Anyone have a nice front yard? (jk, but serious)

Yes a group shot would of been great! I was in a truck club years ago and when we had a show we blocked off the lot and only let in the show cars.
over all it was good. that park sure got busy after lunch. I'm sure locations are out there. For instance there is a mall in Titusville that has all but closed, we could of had 1/2 the whole lot there! Also there is a park around a lake in Port Orange that I went to a VW show at. It was ideal!! You just need someone in an orange vest to monitor who drives into show areas. How are the other GTG's? Daw_two said the Texas one is good! (close Austin I think?) but a good 22hr drive from here.

any other events coming up?

Exactly! I proposed to Stewart why not down the shore next time around... the parking lot at that park isn't the best. One suggestion is in Viera, right where the new shopping center is with its large often empty parking lot. I'm sure there are many other places... the next GTG is in the fall, but I wouldn't contest another one anytime before the dog days of summer. We can get it more organized and orderly like how NE and Central GTGs I been to... There's always room for improvement, but overall the amount of people and their cars was a nice success.
