My pressure guage flutters, mad crazy!
Is my guage going bad?
Is my pump going bad?
Is there some kind of sending unit to check out?

Can you help a fella out?

I have 2 300D's and both of thier oil pressure guages flutter only after a very long drive, say 2-3 hours. Not sure what it is..

I have a 1977 300D. The oil pressure gauge has "fluttered", primarily at idle, since the car was new.

I'm not trying to convince you that you don't have a problem, or find out that I have one, but that is the way mine is.

It is a normal observation at idle after the engine is good and warm. Someone told me why once, but I have forgotten. If you see it happen while you are cruising at highway speed, then panic would be in order.
