Updated Breather Hose

Does anyone know if this breather hose has a MB part number? It's supposedly a "Meyle Updated Breather Hose" for the OM617A.

I have one, and after 4 years it's cracking and leaking at the valve cover. I thought I saw this in the EPC, but the EPC refuses to load for me this morning.

I've searched every online parts database that I know of (including Fastlane), and I can only find one place that carries this and the price seems out of whack.

Thanks for any help.

They do seem a bit pricey, but I that on both cars, $22 is what I found a minute ago.

Yes, that's it. It's amazing how much easier things are with a part number...

Its passages are small and restricted compared to the original tube.

It's supposed to have baffles in it to make it smooth and buttery. I like it.

Baffle is also another word for restriction. They increase surface area and air turbulence to help condense oil vapor. Its way too small to be much more than a restriction.

If you're going to replace the hose with something different you should consider adding a real separator instead.
3/4" hose and a separator made from a 1/2" line compressed air water separator. No restriction here!

I've had one on my car for over 5 years and it is still flexible and in good shape, and seems to work fine....it did slightly reduce oil consumption. Gasses flow through it fine, pull off the end at the air cleaner, plenty of air coming through.

Thats at idle. Blow-by goes up quite a lot at high RPM with boost.

Crankcase pressure should be 0.2psi or less (slight vacuum).

So would would be the negative effects of the "slim" breather tube? I've had mine on for probably 55-60k with no problems....and my motor has a good amount of blowby (always has)
