CD repair manual: Is is any good?

Before I buy one, can anyone tell me their likes and dislikes of the CD repair manual that can be purchased? Also, other than Haynes repair manual and the CD, are there other manuals out there that are good and available?

thanks,
mike

Check out this thread

CD Service Manuals - Worth the $$$$'s

The concensus was, the CD manual is just scanned in pages of the shop manuals. Kind of difficult to read, and harder to print clearly.

The thing to remember with the MB Manuals (paper or CD) is that they are written for Techs. It is assumed that the reader will have an idea of what they are doing. If you are looking for a simple how-to where you are walked through each step, the MB manuals will be difficult to use.

For some of the more basic stuff, the Haynes manuals might help, but fall sshort when getting into more complex repairs.

I have a CD. Its pretty good except for some of the electrical drawings, the master must have had a level of gray that didn't scan well. Some advantages are, my favorite, searching. Then there is printing pages to donate to greasy fingers. I also bring the CD on trips in case somebody not entirely farmiliar with the car has to do work.

The CD also has the owners manual and maintance manual. And a nifty opening screen:p
