Exclamation Need help routing belt on OM602 and other nuances

Hi,

I bougth a used Rexton 290 with a MB OM602 5 cylinder engine, had to replace the belt because it broke and now I can't seem to get tension on it; what am I doing wrong?
Can someone send me the diagram? Previous owner had accident and the cover that goes on the top of the radiator is missing and no owners manual.
The engine also has a small oil leak coming from somwhere where the intake manifold connects with the head and from the blowoff valve from the turbo, are these leaks difficult to repair? Never worked on a MB engine before, appart from doing oil changes.
He was using 25W50 Texaco oil; in my previous diesel, I used 15W40 from Repsol[non synthetic], which one should I use on this engine?
If you want to can PM or send me an email to darkmonster620@gmail.com.
Many thanks,
Carlos

Thumbs up

Thanks man...

But my engine has an idler pulley above the tension pulley...
And I'm running that same diagram,...that's why I'm lost, I bought the tensioner[the spring and damper and pulley] and no tension ...

Do you have all 6 items on page 21 on your car?

Whats missing?

Either of those oils will probably work.....I imagine it is quite warm down there. The 15w40 may be better, whichever is a good diesel rated oil.

That drawing is based off the 603. It was the only one I could find with the idler on top and 7 contacts...

check your messages for a link to an FSM.

you should also compare the two belts together.

When you bought the belt which vehicle did you provide info for? The other vehicle may require a different size due to accessory pulleys with different diameters.
