I have a seat frame that I think will work. I'll upload some pics tonight.

fwiw, I bought a 500SEL awhile back that someone had put a gen2 interior in- none of the seats moved like they should. Only certain sections of the seat would move and only when pressing the wrong part of the switch. I rewired the pins on the plug for the drivers seat using the wiring diagrams for both cars and made myself a 1ft long "harness" to connect the plug on the body to the passenger seat motor plugs directly- I removed the seat module since the seats were powered through the switch. Everything worked great when it was done.

I recently bought an interior out of a 1991 420SEL(GEN II) to put in my 1983 300SD(assuming GEN I). I would be interested in the wiring diagrams from both year’s seats if possible. I realize the harness in the car is only 8 wires compared to the many more that the 1991 would have.
I still have both sets of front seats to hopefully get a working pair with the leather seats off the 1991. I have no problem with soldering or trying to put together a new harness I just need to know which wires go to what. I also know ill loose the power headrest since back in 83 they didn’t have them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
