sloppy gear selector
On my 300D T, when I put it in L, it does not stay in 1st gear but shifts through all gears as if it's in D, same thing if I put it in S. That's not the way it should behave?
What's wrong and what's the remedy? Thanks!

Most likely shift linkage bushings. One on each end. About 2 bucks a piece and will make it feel new. Search on installation. Thanks

This is most likely the problem. However there are two more shifter bushings located inside the car where the shifter connects to the pivot that connects to the external shift linkage. When these go bad the shifter feels really sloppy. Their not that bad to replace. You'll need a cir-clip removal tool though. Its a really really difficult clip to remove without the tool.
