The Turkish Fram filters I got last fall were string, but I haven't bought any this year to compare against. The SD's been off the road most of the year.

NAPA sells more than one filter for the 617 Engines.

Are you buying it for your 87'? The ones for the W123 are the pleated paper, but the W124 one I bought for the 95' was cotton

I was buying for the '87. BUT I'll add that the NAPA I usually go to is staffed by the type that if they can't turn around and pick up what you ask for without taking a single step...."No, that's special order."

My experience with Sean

howdy all,

just wanted to let everyone know that i had my injectors done by Sean recently.

first, i'm going to write a new thread warning people about the first injector shop i used in binghamton, ny. NO ONE should use them based on what i've found out after talking with Sean.

second, i couldn't be happier with Sean's service. it was prompt and informative. he called me personally when the job was done to let me know how it went and what to expect out of my injectors. he was straightforward and honest and helpful. i got tons of e-mails from him while the work was being done, just updates so i didn't have to wonder what was going on. and the price for the re-build was spot on, exactly what i expected to pay. and he gave it to me straight about this set of injectors (found out this is probably the third re-build they've been through ) and was honest about what that means for me, my car, and my budget.

in short, i will be using Sean again for any other injector issues and i recommend him to anyone who wants their injectors serviced!

THANK YOU! and the Kurt Vonnegut scene in "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield was a HOOT! BTW, when you get them installed, let me know how they run. Hopefully the stubborn leaker(s) are sealed now.
