mice in the heater core??? 123 wagon
I had my car stored last winter, and discovered a few dead young mice in it this summer when I pulled it out of storage. they were on the floormats, both in the front and back seat area.. still there was a bit of a smell even after cleaning up after them..
discovered last week that the smell is worse when the heater is blowing and warm.. so does that imply that they are in the heater core? does anyone have suggestions as to how to investigate the climate control system in this regard? any and all suggestions are welcomed.

It could be...
but also that is a place where mold can grow... spray with lysol or Fabreez.... for quick relief....( but may need to go in and really clean at some time ) when the fan is on and near the intake... But we keep the glue traps inside our cars out here in the country... regularly catch mice...and I also had acorns stored inside my air cleaner ( but on the safe side away from the engine ) when I left off the long intake hose once...

In China mine wasn't exactly in the heater core.
In the white wagon a couple of years ago during the spring one crawled up somewhere and died. Couldn't drive it for 3 months. I removed all seats, carpet, dash, etc.... Never found the decayed carcass. I assume he crawled down into the evap box.
