I rarely listen to my radio too...love the sound coming from under the hood.

My daughter and I (and my dog too) are leaving in a few minutes to visit my parents...380 mile round trip...28 degrees outside...all my tools are in the trunk just to be sure. But I'm sure the old girl won't give me any troubles.

Merry Christmas everybody!!

I've owned my 89 Dodge-Cummins (4WD, 5 speed Getrag) since 1997 and I'm as fond of it as any of my diesel Benzes. Historically, it's usually the newly acquired Benz that rides home on the trailer behind the Cummins.

She's got a beautiful color sanded black paint job, cab lights, chrome 94 wheels, and a cab high cap. When not in use, has a place of honor inside the carriage house. Not too much fun around town, but get her out on the highway with a load, and she's pretty impressive.

Rarely use the radio, love the sound of the engine!

Not that I like it better than my Benzes, but it's got all the simplicity and appeal of a W123 240D with a manual, and I cannot see any reason I'd ever want to part with it.

Love my 300D

This is my second Mercedes diesel. Its a 82 300D with (I estimate due to the 5 pos odometer) ~214000 mi. I absolutly love it. Just enough things to tinker on but nothing major.
First Merc diesel was a 1973 220D. Talk about SLOWWWWWW. After having to keep it on the block heater at 60 deg I checked compression. 210 psi on all 4. I had driven it all summer like this.
Both cars had tons of personality but I am in total LOVE with the 300D and expect to be for many years to come.

If you have the correct odometer in your '82, it is 6 digits.
