Sway Bar Troubles

I have an 87 TDT and recently I changed out the sway bar bushings. About three days later it broke the bracket on the right side at the front. I welded it up and a few days later it breaks again. I welded it again really strong. A week later it breaks again. Anyone know what is wrong? How is it possible? Could the bushings be too tight? I don't think it will go on upside down, the bar I mean. I can't imagine I could have inverted the bar. Any other ideas on this?
