engine not shutting off - my mistake, please help

Hello;
I am the proud owner of a 1983 MB 300SD Turbo. Car is immaculate in and out and runs and hums like a champ. Today I decided to install a new car radio w. CD player. After I got the job done, I took my car for a short drive to enjoy my new toy. Once back home I parked the car and turned the engine off. Engine now won't turn off. I removed sidepanel on passenger's side and noticed disconnected vacuum hoses (black/grey rubbery things). I can see the white connections they go into, problem is I don't know which one goes where. I know I should and will be much more careful next time when pulling out stuff. Can someone tell me in what order I need to reconnect the vacuum lines (which one goes where)? Thanks so much in advance for your help and for putting up with my stupidity.

Lode

if you need to shut the engine off,there is a stop button near the injection on the driver side of the vehicle.should have white letters surounded by red with the word stop printed on it.

Hello Junkman;

Yes, that's what I need, except, the images don't show which connector goes to which vacuum pod. Just like in the image there are six vacuum pods situated vertically to the right of the heating/ac control unit. I need to know which vacuum tube goes to which pod. Sorry for all the trouble and thanks for all the help.

From the top:

1) Defrost pod
2) Legroom pod
3) Center nozzle pod
4) Scoop pod
5) Main air door pod main diaphragm (rear) (there are two of these)
6) Main air door pod secondary diaphragm (front) (there are two of these)

Super, thanks a lot. One last question (I hope). Is there a dirty quick fix I can use, like plugging off a vacuum line or something that will shut the engine off after I turn off the ignition key? I got 4 days off coming up with the new year. That will give me ample time to fix my vacuum pods problems. Until then I would like to be able for the engine to shut off without having to constantly open the hood and press the shut off lever. Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch.

Sure you can.

At the bottom of those six switches you'll find the main vacuum line that feeds the switches. Just disconnect and plug this line. You can also do it from under the hood......the line is red with a green stripe. Pull the line off the connection (DON'T BREAK IT) and put a short piece of hose on the connection. Then plug the hose and you're good to go.

Again............I cannot stress this enough............the line under the hood is attached to a brittle plastic nipple............and you'll need to carefully cut it off the nipple. If you fracture the nipple, you're looking at a new line from the pump to the booster and you'll be thoroughly PO'd.

I think the line under the hood is read & white striped. PO had disconnected & plugged it at a 4 way rubber vacuum junction by the brake master. I'm trying to decide between pulling the dash or trying to replace leaking pods via the glove box. 13 & 17 leak after the switchover valve on my 85SD

All pods can be replaced without pulling the dash with the possible exception of the center vents...........depending on how small and strong your fingers are.
