oil for 85300D
Peter~
What are you talking about M-B dosent recommend 10W-40 in its diesels? I read my owners manual like a bible, and it says 15W-40 in temps above 24 F and 10W-40 if temps go lower. Ive been using 15W-40 up until my last change and used 10W-40 for the 1st time and think its doing a great job. Years ago GM thought that 15and 10W-40 motor oils were not effective because of the large range and the additives needed to create this greater range of temp viscosity. So now they recommend 5 and 10W-30. What might be fine for GM is not for M-B however. Im sticking to my owner manual for my 300D Turbo. 15W-40 for summer 10W-40 for winter |
