616 and turbo 617 same Precamber?

Hello, I was wondering if the prechambers are the same for 616 and turbo 617 engines? Thanks(I did search and much info there)

A quick look shows the 616 prechambers with a 14 mm outside diameter "burner neck" and a 617.95x prechambers with a 16 mm outside diameter "burner neck".

I do not think I would interchange them...
there were several changes I think to the size and direction the critical holes in the 616 over the years... so I am pretty sure they would not be OK for use in a Turbo engine..
I would check very carefully before interchanging...

no, they are not the same and they are not interchangeable.

Probably the same between the 617 na and 240.

The 240's engine the OM616, actually had a couple of different prechamber designs that where employed over the basic engine's design life span so it would very much depend on the particular 616 engine whether its prechambers would be correct and interchangeable with those used in a NA 617.91 engine

Yes , they had two different prechanber designs which must be matched to the proper piston top design..

but in addition to that several changes/update were made to the holes... so one should always check to see what the latest greatest recommended part number is....
