The only car that I have driven that does not leak oil is a 94 LS400. 2nd owner car. The engine and tranny looks dry and clean but it only had 140K on it when I sold it.

All my MBZs leak tiny amount of oil or tranny fluid, don't know where but I 'try' to clean it up and fix it. It is a nuisance but not the end of the world. They all drive good and really cannot complain when they all have 220K minimum each. Some are 330K+. Gasser would be a goner for that kind of mileage.

Not necesarily. When I worked at the junkyard, I saw a W124 260E that had 327,000 miles on it and was at the yard because it had been rolled. I also saw a few Honda, Toyota, Subaru, and Ford Crown Victoria cars with that kind of mileage (and one Chevy Cavalier with 341k).

Those may be the exception than the rule. How can you know for sure that they are the original engines? What I meant is that it is acceptable to me that cars with 200K+ miles to leak a bit of oil.

No oil leaks on my 124. It does push coolant out of a cracked lower radiator neck, but that'll stop once I get back home and put in the new radiator. The delivery valves are also seeping, I guess that technically counts as oil Got the gaskets and washers, just have to get home and do it after I find somebody who has the socket.
