96 E300D wiring diagrams needed

Does anyone know what model bose amp is in the car, and also does anyone have a wiring diagram for the audio systems. I bough an aftermarket indash dvd, and I will need to hardwire it. The only thing is that this audio install shop told me that I would have to go directly to the speakers and would have to bypass the amp. I am thinkg if i had a wiring diagram i could figure out how to hook it all up. If anyone has other ideas please let me know. thank you

The wiring diagrams are in the service manual, which used to be available on DVD. You can probably find a used copy, or a copy of WIS which also has them. They're a lot easier to find in the service manual DVD.

As for how many speakers, do you have Bose or no? Bose has eight elements in six speakers - the speakers at the bottom of the front doors are coaxial, those in the rear doors and hat deck are single element. There are no tweeters at the A pillar location for Bose, but the non-Bose system has them.

And finally there are two speakers in the dashboard itself which are not used for the audio system.

I just looked at the WIS and it's asking if you have the "code 810" system or not. I can print the diagram off and possibly scan it back in to post.

AFAIK, the Bose system was an upgrade to the '96. Becker made the "standard" model. You might be able to find the DVD at Books4Cars.com but I would try eBay first. As the DVD is no longer manufactured and is also copy-protected, it is rather rare and sellers may want an arm and a leg for it.

Get a PDF printer and generate the document directly. I am using BullZip these days, but have used other free solutions.

Code 810 is probably the Bose system, but I would have to check.

So installed it last night and everything works. One of the member sent me a diagram showing what each wire is. The system that is on my car is a 4 channel system, not sure if they were all the same for that model.
