Very well stated. I tried to get this point across to a VW diesel guy AFTER he asked me 'how do I replace the injector nozzles?' He treated them as he would anything else and out of eight injectors, all eight leaked like sieves.

Anyone else who is planing on delivery valve seals: it cannot be overstressed how absolutely clean you need to have your parts and work area.

I need your help guys. I'm the bearer of a little bad news. (for me anyway) The job was moving along quite nicely, then BAM the #4 delivery vavle broke off inside of the IP. There's probably 3/4 of an inch in there. How can I get it out?

Yeah, I suppose it was cockeyed. How am I suppose to use the dental pics? Just scrape away little by little? Of course I don't need any shavings dropping into the IP. Where can I pick up a recycled delivery vavlve?

Junk yard. If/when you do find one, after replacing the DV it would be highly beneficial to take your IP to a shop to have the calibration checked.

Thanks. I'll jump on it first thing in the morning. Another question..it's seems as though though the shut-lever has moved. It doesn't seem like it's in the same place it was yesterday. It's actually higher. Does this make sense?

Well guys I pulled it off. Thanks for all of your help.
I was able to remove the broken threads from the IP without damaging anything. Yes(I physically removed the valve first) this goes against policy, but I gave it a shot anyway. Nevertheless, I replaced the valve(correct orientation) replaced the copper washer, replaced O-ring and screwed in the new pressure valve holder. While I was waiting for the part I went ahead and changed the fuel filters also. So I really had to "Crank It". No leaks and sounding beautiful. Now I just need to replace the engine mounts.
