Thinking of busting loose glow plugs on 606. Should i?

Working on my friends 606 -- delivery valve seals, fuel leaks, misc stuff.

I'm wondering if i should try breaking the glow plugs loose. I've read how these glow plugs can break off. They look a bit old. Have some rust on them. Not much though. Car has 176,000 . Its a 1995 E300D.

I've hit it with PB blaster last night and this morning. I definitely don't want to pickle this engine right now. Don't have time to fix it. Just thinking of doing the next owner a favor. She's going to sell the car probably. Plus we can brag the glow plugs were done and what a big deal that is in case buyer might read this forum

Should i try it? How much force? Just a quarter inch ratchet first? Or should i just leave it be and put intake back on?
