They look pretty thin in the pics. I'd replace them. Always replace in pairs.

I always replace the pads when I replace the rotors.

Hm, I didn't know the SD had different brakes. I can send the rotors back if they don't need replacing since I need to send the old calipers back anyway.

yeah, they are the same size caliper pistons, and the same diameter rotors, but the rotors are vented to handle longer breaking times before boiling the fluid... you get no better stopping power, just better cooling of the components.

Gotcha. They are on the way. I guess the only things to decide is if I really need the new rotors and parking brake parts that I also ordered. I'll probably post a photo of the rotors for the opinion of the forum.

W126 Brake Up grade

Here kis a W126 brake up grade thread that might give you some ideas

Upgrading w123 with 1st generation w126 brakes

this is the first generation W126 brakes.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

Agreed, new or rebuilt calipers are necessary, so cost is not the point, being able to stop, is.
