I have the Encapsulated Carbon Seal on the piston turbine end and I am having a hell of a time locating one, can i use one of the others? like 4-piece Carbon Seal or the Dynamic Seal

So where are you at with this turbo? Dont leave us hanging. I have a lot more interest than I did before because I recently picked up a 94 S350 also.

So far here is the prognoses and progres; I have taken the turbo out, very tight spaces “hint” use WD-40 the bolts will come out much easier the unit it is in very good condition the parts that are broken is the (Thrust Bearing) the encapsulated carbon seal Piston Ring Turbine End and the encapsulated carbon seal, now how the oil got in to the compressor end I don’t know. So waiting for the rebuilt kit to arrive assemble and test to see if in fact was the turbo that was causing the smoke.
