If it has R12 in there and there is any pressure, I wouldn't bother with an integrity test until filling it up.

I think I should take it in to get tested and work from there, it's only money...

But if you want to not potentially lose R12 then someone can take it out ...
and use nitrogen and four ounces of R22 under pressure to test for leaks.. then if you think you are sealed up.. charge up and check other items in the system... electrical, condensor and radiator clean and fins straight, aux fan working,etc
