The reason I hypothesize possible issues is mostly ULSD effect on the rotary injection pump after it may have been sitting for a long time unused. This may not be likely, and if so, its hard to imagine a diesel vehicle with an easier to change injection pump than the 6.2 or 6.5.
I had this happen on an old 6.5 powered school bus a guy was using as a camper, and the pump was in and out in less than an hour. You literally could not put it in wrong, like a square peg in a round hole, it only fit in one way. Was a pleasure to work on, which is a great plus for those motors IMHO

the pump itself is simple for sure to install on the block, but GOSH!!! I hate dealing with that octopus set of injection lines...

I live in mortal fear of the glowplugs on a 6.5 personally. I was working outside on a rusty tow truck, and pulled 7 without incident, and snapped the 8th as soon as I became the slightest bit confident that it would come out easily. It took me an additional week of struggling outside in snow and rain to remove the end and then somehow fix the ruined hole, which of course I have managed to snap an easy out into as well, to make the job interesting. Took years off my life.

Someone spent money on this thing not to long ago. The respray is so good it took a while to find evidence of it. The motor looks to have been out and resealed, no leaks. I imagine the carpet is new as well, and they even went far enough to match the carpet on the door panels to the new floor.
An additive would be a good idea. I've been out of diesels so long I forgot about them. Hopefully someone will nibble for around 3 grand. Its certainly getting alot of attention.

At least with this one you can remove the center console and work while sitting on a swiveling pillow top chair secluded from the elements.
After a glow cycle this thing fires on the first crank cold. It sounds great.

it really is unusual to find one of those vans that someone has actually sunk some money into. All the ones Ive seen are usually paint peeling, animal and insect infested nighmares, its kind of refreshing to see one thats actually been maintained and improved.
As far as vans go, I think those style chevys are actually pretty attractive and comfortable honestly.

0-60 in 12 seconds, are you kidding? I had that engine in my '95 Hummer, we timed 0-60 on a calendar and it was only geared for 70, ... I should have waited a year for the turbo.

I think this van would hit 12 seconds in a 0-60; it surprisingly peppy. Do I dare post a 0-60 video?

I'm weighing my options now. Either spend 2-3k to fix it, or cut my losses and move on. I imagine it would be fairly easy to get $1000-$1500 for it since it books for over 7k, and I didn't pay, so a $500-$1000 loss isn't terrible.
Stuff happens.
