That sides wheel bearing may have taken quite a beating as well.

No slop or bearing noise. :)

ya take a shot with the camera, and hit share, then post it to a Picasso account, and then just leave a link here for us to browse the shots you've taken of the car!
simple!

No, don't plan to either.

Seven phones this year demolished by work, falls, crushed, ground to paste.

Cheap, cheap, cheapest... :D

Not yet, but the case that mine comes in keeps the phone from falling in the rock crusher in the first place.:D

I am extremely busy.

Make no mistake, I still love the car warts and all. :D

It is the perfect work car for me. :D

That's great, it went to the perfect person. You might be one of the few people who wouldn't have regretted it. Actually sounds like you paid about the right price - if it had been within 100 miles, and you weren't obligated to keep it going. Since you want to fix it anyway that's perfect. Funny that rust wasn't mentioned at all until you picked it up ;)

In the past year, nine phone cases most wrecked within three days.
For some reason they don't like MEK, Acetone, moving fan belts, etc.
My shoes only last two - three months.
Glasses last from one day to three weeks.

I can't use lanyards = strangulation danger.

Each of my last 2 military spec phones have lasted 2 years. I then upgraded and passed my phone on to another user. Before that I was lucky to make it a year with a phone. YRMV, perhaps you need to look at some other outside condition that is causing the failure of these phones.:D

I am looking for a phone that can be submerged in hot coolant, engine oil, ATF, constant six foot falls to concrete, and be run over by cars/trucks.
Oh and have an engine/transmission/toolbox dropped on it.

The problem is that I need it in reach while working.

* Several times per year my pockets are damaged/torn off = dumping contents.
* Lay it on the floor working under a car (forget it is there) and drop a trans/engine/car on it.
* Lay it under the hood, engine vibration knocks it off, forget it is there and close the hood, test drive the car in rain/snow.

Yes, I get so focused on the car that other things don't register, appointments, eating, cell phone, etc.

I am considering one of these:

I had a motorola i530 phone for a long time...the newer model is the 580.
Mine took a beating and still worked... Dropped it I dont know how many times... got it wet... and so on...good phone. It lasted 4 years for me.
But I never dropped an engine or tranny on mine :D

I have the G'zOne Boulder in orange so I can find it. It has an will take the 6' drop on concrete. I've never tried dropping it in antifreeze. Who do you have service with?

I also think that I need mine in reach when working. I've found on days that I forget it at home I actually accomplish a lot more, YRMV.:D

I have arranged for a friend to go with me to PartsGalore Saturday. :D

I went alone.
An hour later I realized an additional tool was needed, back to the garage. :o

Back at PartsGalore it took 1.5 hours to remove six bolts.

$35.00 later I have a replacement axle. :D

Thank goodness we had a heat wave 41° F.. :D

Industrial Velcro on a cheap phone and either an armband of its mate or some of it sewn on your clothes...?
