non turbo 617 engines
I have an 85 300D non turbo 617 with a 4 speed manual transmission.
I'm missing a rubber grommet on the throttle linkage between the rod that comes off the linkage to the accelerator pedal and the linkage that is connected to the engine. I'm wondering how important this little rubber grommet is. Since the linkage in that one spot no longer has the rubber, it seems that with the accelerator fully open, it might not be pushing the linkage quite as far as it should. I haven't seen this part listed anywhere. Not sure if anyone will know what I'm talking about. I've seen the throttle linkage on the turbo diesels and it is different than the non-turbo. Any thoughts?
