Which brand of glow plugs do you recommend?

Looking at Peachparts:
http://catalog.peachparts.com/ShopByVehicle.epc?q=&yearid=1982%40%401982&makeid=63%40%40MERCEDES+BENZ%40%40X&modelid=6231%3AED%7C10000135%3AMBC%7C1518%40%40300TD&keyword=glow+plug&subcatid=P:240808@@Glow Plug&mode=PA

Bosch and Beru - both 'more' expensive here...

And,
http://www.allpartsexpress.com/ShopByVehicle.epc?q=&yearid=1982%40%401982&makeid=MERCEDES+BENZ%40%40MERCEDES+BENZ%40%40X&engineid=1194319%40%40300TDT+%2FL5%5F3%2E0L%5FDIESEL%5FTurbo%40%40300TDT&keyword=glow+plug&subcatid=Glow+Plug@@Glow+Plug+System&mode=PA

Bosch, Monark, and Meyle, for a much more reasonable price...

What does the community recommend?

I go with the rest of the Forum Members: Bosch and Beru Glow Plugs are the only ones that hold up.
I have personal experience with the Autolites; after 6 months use I could barely pull 2 out of the Head due to swollen tips.
I replaced them with Monark Glow Plugs. After about 2 years use in S. CA one of the Monarks went bad. I replaced all with Bosch.
The Bosch Glow Plugs are easier to find and cost less.

No matter which Glow Plug you use the Carbon should be cleaned out of the Glow Plug Holes if you expect them to last a long time. There is a Glow Plug Reamer for that job or you can use one of the alternative methods in our DIY Repair section.

ccuartas,
Best not advertise competition to the buy parts link on the forum. Does that parts supplier provide a forum like this? Have you ever checked fastlane & allpartsexpress prices on here? Try clicking the buy parts link at the top of the page.

I put a set of 5 brand new monarchs in a W123 about 1.5 years ago. It had the bosch afterglow relay on it. These monarchs came in the trunk of a car i bought and were brand new so i used them. About 6 mos ago the car would not start. 4 of the glow plugs were bad. I wont be using monarchs ever again even if they are free.

Bosch, as others have recommended. Ones I installed in '06 or '07 still work great.

If you'll get the glow plugs online, might as well stock on a few spare glow plug relay fuses.

I talked to a very popular indy here in town - he seemed to indicate that there was a difference in the Bosch plugs available at the parts store and the Bosch plugs you would get from the dealer. And to only get the ones from the dealer. I cant really see that they would be any different from one another. Except price.

Layback, please refrain in the future of what I should post on my thread/s -- if you don't like it reserve it. We live in America and if you don't like our own opinion/s that's to bad. I was just giving a link like everybody else does!
