IP linkage adjustment

Greetings,

'90 300D 2.5L turbo though I think my basic question is almost universal.

When the throttle linkage is activated one of the results is a vertical linkage adjacent to the IP (located between the IP and the engine) moves up and down.

I'm assuming that if the throttle linkage is held in the fully open position this up/down linkage I just described should just at the end of its travel.

Currently that is not the case. There may be close to a 0.6 to 0.8 cm of additional travel that would occur if I adjust the various throtlle linkage settings.

Instead of just going ahead and altering my current settings I'd appreciate some advice.

Thanks.

TGD
