I've posted many times that Febi is "mostly" a re-packer of parts, some are OE quality.
The OE quality on the 123-241-30-13's is Phoenix.

That ain't good. The last time I bought any Febi parts they weren't from China AFAIK. BUT that was a while back. I know Üro parts are not all that good but it saddens me to learn our choices are narrowing.

Bosch is the same way. I'm not sure they are made in China, but I've seen "Bosch made in Brazil" on a voltage regulator. I believe Bosch parts come out of India as well.

The argument is that if they have the same latest manufacturing equipment, they should be able to make them!! Down here we like to get drive train parts for earth moving equipment out of the USA as the steel is tougher. The European stuff is case hardened a lot but the base metal is C##P. Once you break the surface, there is no strength. The same goes for Asian/ Chinese stuff.

It's been other countries for a few years now. Pretty much mbdoc summed it up. Febi really ought to update their website. "Solutions made in Germany" is an outright lie. .

I have an odder one. I bought a Thermostat for my Diesel Volvo and on the Box it said Made in Israel; on the part it had Made in Germany.
I order a pair of Gabriel Shock Absorbers. On was made in the US and the other was made in Mexico. The Bosch Oil Filters I use have "See Product For Country Of Origin" on the box but when you look on the Oil Filter there is no Country of Origin on them. I am also seeing products that have a list of as many as 4 countries the product could have been made in on the label.

Haven't bought any Chinese Febi parts yet but it's been awhile. Did return a $45 Chinese flex-disc where the rubber was rock-hard, and got a $78 one from the dealer, where I hope it came from Germany, or at least somewhere other than China.
10 years ago, I bought an aftermarket hood-star from my local indie MB parts-place for a friend's '72 220. After a few years, it had turned grey, peeled and crumbled. So when I needed one for my '82 240D, I got it from the dealer for $38. Made in Turkey, but I hope it's better quality than the other one. Later, when I visited my indie MB parts place, They had the same W123 Turkish hood-star, in the same Mercedes box, for $28. DOH! Then I needed fuel-filters for my 240D one evening. Too late to to get one from the indie MB parts-place, so I got the metal Purolator canister-filter from Pep Boys for $15. Imagine my suprise when I opened the box and found a German Mann filter. They didn't have the little plastic pre-filter so I went next-door to Advance Auto. Advance had the plastic filter and also the Purolator canister for only $9, so I thought "Hey, I can return the Pep Boys filter and save $6". Then I opened the second Purolator box and found a no-name white canister with only the words "Made in China". I kept the Mann filter. Later when I had the chance, I got a couple extra German Knecht canister-filters at my local MB parts place - for $6 each. DOH! Happy Motoring, Mark
