excellent, thanks everyone, got it all back together and found that the parking brakes were dragging. so after a search i found some good parking brake adjustment info and adjusted both rear brakes (they were both dragging a little bit!)

now.. with the new brake pads in, they seem to still be dragging on the rotor a bit, i've been told that the pads always touch a little bit, on the other rear wheel i hear a little bit of drag when spinning the wheel (on a jack)
but on the wheel that i just changed the caliper, there seems to be a lot of drag/scraping/ grinding sound when spinning the wheels... and it seems to be from the pads pressing the rotor, not the parking brake shoes.
i've seen a lot of discussion around here about the rubber brake hose connecting to the caliper failing and causing the calipers to not retract.. I guess i'll try replacing that now, im sure its super old anyways
i'll report back in a few.

I'll look up the spec tomorrow and VERIFY that for you. I'd hate for the bolt to wiggle loose on you.

excellent, thanks!!

i got the new hose replaced and i think all is good... i am still hearing some rubbing/ grinding when the wheel is turned by hand while on jacks.. is this normal? i tested the other side and heard a little, but not as much as the side i've been working on.. I am not sure what else could be causing the pads to be rubbing, or will they just rub for a bit since they are brand new?
