short-lived relief

After the repair I ran some errands involving several stops. I had forgotten all about the switch cap. Got in to drive home, when going to make a turn I notice the cap gone again.

I suspect the culprits to be the four little ridges which are now worn down to the point where they no longer adequately latch into the slits to resist the force of the spring.

Though it is hard to get a well focused close-up, if someone can take a picture of their (presumed good) cap at the same angle as my picture that shows all four ridges then by comparison it might be possible to substantiate that theory.

Meanwhile, I'll try building the ridges up a bit with some E 6000 adhesive provided it sticks to the plastic.
