How do I make these tie rods the same?
One is OE from the car, other is white box karlyn from Phil. Different designs, how do I get them to match? The karlyn is slightly smaller in casting thickness. Which side should be in vs outboard?
Thanks!

I don't know of any really good tricks... I just used a tape measure to measure from assumed centre to assumed centre and adjusted accordingly.
As it turned out with new rubbers and other new bits when I re-did my front suspension it was miles out. So I can't really recommend my method that highly! It was difficult to tell if it was due to the other new parts or my bad measuring though... However, all is not lost you can do a lot to check your own alignment:- Recent thread Self alignment! How I did it How I adjusted the toe in / out, camber and caster on my W123 300D

For all to know, the FSM states that on types which have a counterbut and clamp, the clamp side is towards the wheel...

What's the word on those Karlyn's? They are half the price of Lemforder and are made in the good 'ole U.S. of A.....New York, I believe.

The tie rod ends are thinner in the casting compared to the OE units which came off (stamped with a star). Diameter of the shaft is smaller than the OE that came off. Besides that? Seems fine - only time will tell how they will last.
