Having withdrawals.. anyone else?

I'm out of parts!

Doing the evap core cleaning this weekend but UGH! Been busy all week and haven't had anything to do other than change the fuel filters...

I need to order some parts!

Anyone else go crazy when they aren't fixing something or doing preventative maintenance? You guys got me hooked!

I think I need to change my oil.... I mean its been 600 miles or so since the last one, so I'm pretty overdue...

I am happy sitting here waiting to see your photos and instructions on getting to the evaporator... and cleaning it without bending any fins... and making sure the drain is clear afterwards so you do not wind up in a couple of weeks with mold smell...

I can't say I've run into this situation. There's always something else that needs to be overdone, ...

I know how you feel, I had my fix today. Took a oil pump apart today, it would not turn. It turns now, I cant believe all the crap that was in there.

That is when you get another parts car, and decide to restore it instead.

Ask your wife if anything needs fixing around the house. That should keep you going for about 20 years !!

If that doesnt work, take up playing golf !!

If you really get bored and are having withdrawls, you can always go to PNP and work on some.

Like I don`t have enough to do with our fleet, I took on a highly neglected 84 300TD this girl owns. they may be bullet proof, but this one is running out of bullets. she seems to think all you have to do is drive it w/o any regimented maintenance.

Build a boat. That'll fix ya.
Of course, it'll have a Mercedes Diesel engine in it.

More like frustration! My back-porch roof needs work, but I haven't even been able to even start prepping it because this winter's been so crappy. And my '84 TD is the only vehicle I have for hauling porch-repair stuff (like five 12' galvanised ribbed roof-panels). Well two weeks after the weather was finally decent enough to replace the rear axles, because I have no garage (and one week after my return from Virginia Beach) the alternator quit. Now I DO happen to have a spare alternator I MIGHT be able to use, but it's in - LOL - Virginia Beach! My brother is there today so he promised to bring it with him when he gets back. But if I can't get the TD self-charging soon, I may just put a battery-charger on her long enough to at least make a couple trips to Lowes.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Um, a cold start and 2-3 hot ones, no headlights or AC, easy. Remember, it's not a sparky.

As long as you make sure the battery is charged before you leave for Lowes, you should be fine. These cars don't need electricity to keep themselves running. Just be sure you go when the sun is up so you don't need the headlights.

My brother won't be back fom Virginia Beach with my spare alternator 'till tonight. So I'm charging the battery for a few hours. Hopefully, I can get back from Lowes before dark.

Happy Motoring, Mark
