I have a dash light out. Any help on how to get to and replace?

Thanks, Dale

With my car, you extend the steering wheel as far out as it can go. The dash cluster itself is just a press-fit arrangement. There are no screws or clips holding it in. Mercedes sells two hook like tools that slip in at the sides of the cluster, and then you just pull the cluster out of the dash using the tools hooked in at the sides. I made my own "tools" by bending some brazing rods, and that worked for me. My cluster was a tight fit, and it took a little time and effort to get it to move out. Once out of the dash housing, there is enough room to access all the little bulbs in the cluster without disconnecting the wiring. Once the bulb is replaced, the cluster is just pushed back into its dash housing. Be advised, that the bulbs needed are not commonly found at any of the usual parts stores, and may have to be gotten at a dealer or on line supplier. Good luck!!

Thanks for the help. It sounds pretty simple, I'll give it a try.

I took some pictures back in the day doing this.

Take a look at the notches in the side of the cluster in picture #2. That should give you a better idea of what to hook into.

Tool was basically a handle, stiff thin wire and a small "L" on the end maybe 3/16" if I recall.
