trans question
hey guys, im in need of a tranny for my 83 300td. it has a 722 315#. dose it have to have the same # to work? i cant find a trans close with the right #s. thanks for any help...

I think you only need to make sure that you get a 722.3

Yes any 722.3xx should work, but the gassers will have a different valve body so you might want to swap yours in. A 733.303 from a 300SD will work, but your speedo wont (300SD is electronic) w/o swapping the tailpiece.
