The problem with any leak is that 1. it can get bigger with without ' fair warning', 2. it means you do not have a pressurized system... thus lowering your boiling point.. when your coolant is boiling it has much less cooling ability.... due to bubbles...

And you have to add some every now and then too. Kinda old school cooling system.
