That's awesome Funola, Thank you so much for posting those pics.
The tachometer is now WORKING! I used 7mm nuts to lock in the sensor and used a feeler gauge to get the sensor close to the tooth but not TOO close. When the car is idle the tach doesn't register any RPM but as soon as I push on the accelerator the needle jumps to life! What a sight to finally see! thanks for everyones help! What a project! Glad I can move onto something new!

Tach should work at idle. You are not getting a strong enough signal from the mag pickup. You need to decrease the gap to get a higher output. What is the gap set to currently? Use a thinner feeler gauge.
