Unfortunately progress on the w140 is at a standstill due to limited funds. It's basically waiting for an engine... then re-assembly only then will I start re-wiring/modifying interior controls.

what year is your car? if its the same as mine it won't have a pollen filter. It draws air at the TOP of the airbox. Peeking through the opening from the inside of the car you can see the hamster cages.

the light colored part, the bracket looking thing sits inside the car, the entire airbox mounts from the inside, anything beyond that braket sits outside the firewall

I believe you are describing the fresh-air inlet. I'm asking about the recirc-air inlet.
