300sdl doesn't crank in park
It will crank in neutral but not park. I am sure it is an easy switch issue I was wondering if anyone had the time to give a detailed list of what to do.

Find a new neutral Safety switch and replace the bad one. It's in a write up
you did the test. not starting in park but in neutral points to the NSS.

Might just be worn shift linkage bushings.

Does your shifter feel sloppy and loose and make more Noise then a soul lifting light Thunk? then you too may need shifter bushings.
this pertains to a 81 300SD... dont know what year yours is... 81 300SD where is neutral safety switch located? Edit: Nother topic with good info and pics of the NSS if you need it. Broken Neutral Safety Switch and replacing shifter bushings

Thanks. I did it once then was fine for a few starts then just quit. Nothing feels sloppy and the car has 175000 easy miles but for some reason has had it's share of electrical issues hat seem typical for this car. Although clean I think the sun roof has been left open more than a few times. My 300sdl is a 1987

The neutral safety switch is monted on the drivers side of the transmission where the linkage is. Look closely and you can see the plastic arm piece with the tab that goes into the linkage mechanism.
