Accelerator Pedal tab rusted off, how to replace?

So I'm holding my accelerator pedal. The tab that hold the bottom to the floor rusted away.
I know this has happened to others, but have not found a decent fix for it.
The back of the pedal is plastic and I cannot fathom a good fix.

Are there small pedals that I can slide onto the accelerator pipe so it doesn't have to touch the floor? Something that slides on and tightens to the pipe?

Thanks!
Yeah, I'm keeping her. . .

Buy a replacement from the yard &/or see how much Phil sells them for. Cut a piece of aluminum (ie roof or can) to fit. Use the stock plastic part to hold it together. You need a drill or another way to cut the slot in the aluminum. Cut a piece of plywood & screw the aluminum to the plywood so the pedal stays in place.

You may not need the plywood. I think I needed it because whatever was on the floor leveling it up is chipped away.

Mine did the same thing. I might some day cut one off of a donor car and spot weld it in.

denver is hard on cars...
how bad is the rest of the floorpan? chip up the sound deadener and look over the panel. cut a donor out of another car, and go to town with por-15, a pop rivet gun, and lots of JB-Weld.

Never thought I'd say this, but I miss your old avatar.

Fixed!

I took the pedal out of the car and took the plastic piece that holds the pedal to the tab out.
I used a 1/4 X 2 inch machine screw with a small washer through the slotted hole where the plastic piece was. I drilled a 1/4 in hole in the floorboard where the tab was and used two 1.5 inch washers, one on TOP of the floorboard and one under the car. Then a stop hex nut under the washer, under the car. Tightened it up and it works great. There didn't seem to be much rust un the area so I'm thinking that the big washers will hold the base of the pedal for a long while.

Two down,
Bypass (got the heater valve and choke cable kit today)
Steering dampner
Rear brake pads (next, got those today)
to go.

Did I honestly think about selling her? Nope, that was my evil twin. . .
