DIY 87 300D combination switch

My combi switch is good but the cruise is all loose so this is in my future. I am wondering if the steering wheel was changed at some point? My 87 has the brass contact ring and yours looks like it may be from a later year? Looks like the 210 I have. Also you must have changed interior to get the wood?
