1999 E300TD A/C trouble
I need help troubleshooting my climate control. 1999 w210 turbodiesel.
I have the dreaded "EC" light always on. I pulled the 1-8 codes and found that code #7 reads a value of "07" while code #8 reads "80". The system has over 100# static pressure. I speculate that #7 and #8 are the left and right side temperature? After I pulled the codes I reset the climate control. The EC light now stays off but the compressor still doesn't cycle. I speculate that the "EC" light will come back. Can anyone help with the codes?

So I found a chart with the 1-8 codes;
http://continentalimports.com/ser_ic40142a.html Also 07 bar is 101 psi so the sensor is NOT bad. I guess I'm back to square one.

As I remember, the constant EC light is a "self defense" move by the computer in the event of low system pressures.

I speculate that most a/c system failures will result in the EC light coming on and my system has not lost pressure. I'm going to check the fuse in the clutch next.

So what are the values for 3, 4 and 5? I'm betting on you being low on refrigerant.

1=98
2=82 3=94 4=94 5=91 6=172 7=07 (101psi) 8=100 I verified the static pressure is over 100psi at the service port

Were those numbers with the car and the AC system having had a chance to warm up? I'm still betting on low refrigerant level.

The compressor won't start at all. Those numbers are with the car running but no compressor. As I've stated; the static pressure in the system is 100 psi so the compressor should be trying to start even if it were low on charge.
